Well, I'm finally glad to say, "Your Best Thinking Got You Here..." is up. Basically, I've just been lazy (and busy) about getting the songs uploaded to website. I've got to go back and edit everything by hand, you know :). However, after some perseverance (and getting all the crap off my desk so I could FINALLY plug in my external hard drive), the website, with our completed EP, will be going up tomorrow. It seems fitting it should be going up on a Tuesday, as that's when most CDs in general are released. I apologize to everyone for being so lazy, basically, especially to my band members. In other news, though, Clark Herman, our drummer has split with the band for personal reasons. In his stead, we now have a good friend of ours, Ralph Dierberger. He'll be holding down the traps for us in the future. Look for him at our future shows. He'll be wearing the death metal t-shirt. I can't wait to come back and start playing shows again! I hope you guys are as excited as I am. - Nimh, signing off. There is no "finished" in music. There is only "relatively satisfied." Given what the past week just was for me, I am relatively satisfied with the way our recordings turned out. It is 4:37 am. Tomorrow, I'm getting on a plane and flying to Italy. But before I do that, I spent 6 hours in a shed, mixing the songs that are to be released, which I can now say, titled "Your Best Thinking Got You Here". We're releasing three songs: Where's Your Revolution, Goodbye to Us All, and Children, Hold On. This has been a wonderful week, working with the members of my band. Dav, Graham, Clark, this has been quite a learning experience for all of us. I personally appreciate all the effort each of you guys have contributed to this project. I apologize (kind of, I am going to Europe, you know ;) ) for leaving right after we put all this work into this, but that should only give us impetus to continue to work hard. We'll most certainly be rocking the summertime!! To anyone else interested in this new release, never fret. We're going to be releasing the songs online, for free, in a little package that you'll soon be able to download from the website and our MySpace. We're going to put together a digital booklet to go with the songs. I'll keep everyone posted as to when that will be coming out. This should be an interesting couple of months coming up for all of us. - Nimh, signing off. So we've finished recording drums, we've finished bass on three of four songs, and we've finished guitar on one. Tomorrow, I'm starting vocals on 'Where's Your Revolution?' I can't wait! WYR turned out really well so far. I'm really pleased with the way everything sounds. The drums turned out really well. Clark's got a wonderful style, he really grooves well with the music. I'm glad that Graham and Dav can go through their parts quickly, too, because it saves me a lot of time recording the same thing a thousand times. Everything's going pretty well, and Clark pulled some awesome Rhodes parts out of his ass. This has really been an interesting experience for us all. I'm learning how to record, we're all learning our way around a studio. People are tripping over wires less as we learn to pay attention to our feet. I'm mostly worried about not finishing everything in time before break ends. If you haven't already read, TKTOS is going on hiatus as I'm going to study abroad in Italy, and the EP we're recording is to tide you guys over till we get back. It's going to be a free digital download from the website. Peace - Nimh, signing off. So we just got Da Stujo up and running, and we're going to begin recording over the next couple weeks. We'll be releasing four previously unreleased songs for free as a digital download from the website. Keep this website bookmarked for more information. Today, Graham, Clark, and I got the shed set up. It's been a long time coming. We've had that shed sitting out there for who knows how long its been. It's been wonderful to us as a practice space, but its about time it came to fruition as a studio. Hopefully, all will go smoothly and we'll be releasing some songs for you guys in the next month or two. - Nimh, signing off. In order to get more people to sign up at the forum, I'm going to be posting a topic weekly in the Philosophical and/or Political Discussion forums. Go to Speak and sign up to get involved in the discussion. - Nimh, signing off.04/10/08
